October 2, 2021During his pastoral counselling as a priest, Fr. Pierre Leblond, OP met so many people dealing with deep sufferings; physical, emotional, and spiritual. These trials let them to discuss with God and interrogate Him. “Why does God make things so difficult for us?”. It appears that “God has set such unrealistic demands; thus no one seems be able to live up to it”. Others wonder, “Why did God create us so weak and foolish, and sinning is almost inevitable?”.
Let us turn into the Word of God to seek for answers! What God has to say about these sufferings? How does God save us and finally transform our trials into something fruitful? |

Fr. Pierre Leblond, OPDuring this pandemic, many of us are dying of solitude. Jesus has said: “Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each one into his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me.” (John 16). Jesus also said: “Remain in me, as I remain in my Father, if you remain in me my Father and I, will make our home in you.” How is this mutual abiding possible? How can we collaborate with God to make this happen in our lives? What are the fruits of this union with Jesus?

In our lives there are many voices; family, co-workers, society, or our own inner voice. Of all these voices, how do we know what is coming from God and what is not? Is there a way to know Christ's desire and invitation for my life? How can I make daily life decisions together with Jesus? In the Spiritual Exercises, St. Ignatius of Loyola gives us guidelines for discerning Christ's voice in our lives. During this session we will explore together.
